but it seems I no longer have my various crashing problems (seemingly random crashes to desktop, weird graphical hangs, reboots etc).
Replaced the heatsink and fan on my CPU (Athlon 2400+) and it now stays much cooler when CIV is running. Guess it must have been the CPU overheating and failing in an interesting variety of ways...
Now I can focus on other things such as stuttering movies and general unresponsiveness (hear a sound that something has happened and then 5 seconds later see what it was)
