Well it would have to be optional. I don't hit the middle button by accident, but I could see how some people might.

Catching my middle button is rare but it happens... and if it happens halfway through a busy turn...

          New features:

Satellites! I loved the satellites from Alpha Centauri. I'll probably just mod them in myself, but it'd be nice if they were official.

Slow technology. Technology in the late game goes waaaay too fast. By the time I build a few tanks modern armor is already researched! There's so little time to use the units of a particular era. I thought Epic mode might fix this, but it says it slows down production and improvements too! This would make a nice option for custom games.

More food! Perhaps a frozen food or food steralization technology that makes food resources produce one extra food each for the entire empire. Plus, future tech doesn't seem very useful: It just removes happiness and healthiness limitations. I want technology to yield _big_ cities chock full of specialists, though the satellites mentioned above might achieve this goal.

Alternate use of culture. The strong cultural cities near my capital but far from the border seems like the culture is going to waste. Short of a cultural victory, they don't really do anything. From what I can tell, cities remember culture separate for each person that has owned them, and this affects it's nationality. Maybe the cities near the core can "contaminate" the cities they trade with, other cities with the same religion as a holy city, ect, so it would be possible to culturally steal a city that's not adjacant to another city. And this newly taken city would have some culture when it changes hands. For an example, think of how Japanese culture has affected America with it's anime, cars, ect. And this is from across an ocean!

Something I miss from Call to Power as well is the military satellite network, removes the fog of war from the whole globe... not sure if this is the same in alpha Centauri?

I think some of those things would be too complex for a patch. They would also require ai modding and game rebalancing. I am only looking for very simple things that could easily be changed and that everyone would unanimously like. (Or in the case of an option, something that everyone would either like or be neutral towards it)

In the CIV .ini file, you can change the name of your civ that the game picked up when it was installed. Of course, you shouldn't HAVE to do this, but it is not very difficult.

Mine somehow switched the default name and I didn't edit anything like that.

Not sure how simple a request this is, but please fix the bugs before adding features!

What appears to be a game crashing memory leak on big maps would be #1 on my list.

Thxye Nailfoot! I fiddled with the .ini file and no longer have to erase YOUR_$#%$GRG%$G$#$T$#T every single time

I think it has something to do with multiplayer btw...I swear Mircoprose must have some sindicate Civ mulpiplayer gambling area or something...while multiplayer options is nice and all..it seems to be the cause of more problems than its worth...I blame the internet cafe moffia!

I want to be able to pick my civ's color and have a scroll box for city name options when I find a city

I agree that obviosly fixing the bugs would be a priority. That's why I only want to include the most basic things to request. Things that would not take any significant time away from bug fixing.

Not sure if this has been answered, so here it comes:

You can see the total cost. When you click on a unit and go to the upgrade button, you will see the individual cost. When you Shift-click on a unit and go to the upgrade button, it shows the total cost. If it doesn't just wait a bit or move your mouse away from the button and then over it again. I don't remember now exactly what I've done, but if you have a little patience the game will refresh the cost from one unit only to total cost.

However, with the current upgrade costs, believe me you don't want to see the total sum

Or, since right-click is used to move units, some other combination. For example Shift-click or something like that (I believe Shift-click already works for selecting individual units from a stack ).

You can end the turn by clicking on the big circle, left top of the mini-map.

What I wonder about is: how do I open the event log? How do I draw lines on the map? How do I rename regio's, rivers and mountains?

The way it worked for me is to press down ALT and move the mouse over the upgrade button.
