Given how the wonder movies accomplish nothing but crashing my game? Yes, yes I would.

      Civ2 movie swap

but a game like this needs some of the extra "fluff" or could get tiresome.
I never found Civ games needed "fluff", but rather many other games need "fluff". Imagine AoE3 or Quake4 with Civ1 graphics/sounds, a Civ4 movie, no bonus levels, secret weapons or easter eggs. Those games need the "fluff" to dazzle and wow the younger crowds, which they get.

I don't miss the palace/throne building at all. I miss Civ2 Elvis/Advisors more than that and I miss Civ2 Elvis/Advisors as much as the City View, which really isn't that much. Nothing I would complain about.

I loved the Civ2 movies, but I even disabled those after awhile. I don't think I would complain about Civ4 movies. In Civ3 I wished there was a way to activate the Civ2movies after a wonder was built. Is it be possible to swap some of the better Civ2 movies with some Civ4 movies? Could the Civ2 movies be converted to *.bik files?

Personally, I am majorly disappointed by the wonder movies. Also by Mr. Spock chatting up techs. It was neat the first time...

Call to Power 2 had the best wonder movies, hands down.

Well I never cared for the wonder movies anyway. Once seen, they were a bore.

I like the wonder movies, I think they are cool. I wish they were a little bit slower though.

I remember some Civ2 wonder movies.. "The Eiffel Tower" and "Universal Suffrage".. very very good ones!
Civ4 are interesting in that construction of large buildings of ancient times are animated. Though it's way too fast to get anything out of them.

Surely, I'd loved to have seen some variety though.

I would LOVE to swap out some of the Civ4 movies for the Civ2 movies! Of course, you'd have to keep the things like the Spiral Minaret and Ankor Wat and the Internet that have no Civ2 equivalent. But getting to see movies like the Hanging Gardens, the Oracle, the Apollo Program, the Colossus, even swapping the Hoover movie (my favorite) for Three Gorges--that would be great!

Of course, you'd have to edit the end of the movie so that the correct effects of the wonder were shown...

                Modders! Get on this!

The wondermovies should really not be a "major sellingpoint"... I'm just in for the game.. the wondermovies will be shut off here anyways. But thats just my oppinion, ofcourse..

wondermovies are nice. but little variation kinda bores me. the civ 2 movies were excellent. Why not have them back? or use them for inspiration?
firaxis seems to take one step back for every step they take forward. civ2 had great wonder movies. civ3 had none, civ4 movies are ok. whats up with that?

I don't miss the wonder movies (had to turn them off), but there ARE city views! Just zoom in real close to one right on the map. Notice how the music changes as you zoom in, notice how the music changes by zooming in on a foreign civ.
Now, how cool is that? Very cool.

I posted that exact same question...........

"Can we use the Civ2 Wonder Movies in Civ4?"

And I got this response from Locutus.....

Yes, download the RAD Video Tools and you can convert the Civ2 AVI files (or any other popular file format) to Civ4 Bink files.
The Rad Video Tools can be found at http://www.radgametools.com

Too bad they did not have that kind of creativity this time It would have made the game perfect.

I agree 110% it would have given us something to look forward to when they patch the skipping sound problem
