I'm ashamed at the content of Wonder movies

"Great!" we all thought.. "Wonder movies are coming back!"


Too bad every single wonder movie is the exact same storyboard.. Concept drawing->base structure->build process->finished product->landscape finishing touches.

WOOPEEE I'd rather have the detailed palace and city views back.. At least they can be somewhat interesting.

Why did they even bother telling us they were coming back? If it had just been a pleasant suprise there wouldn't be any hype.. But noooo it was made a minor selling point.

Here's to hoping that late-game wonders are at least original in movie production.. I just haven't reached that far yet in my first game

The same formula as the wonder "movies" in Civ 3 then. I suppose it sounds good on the PR speak to say they are coming back.

Then again, if they've spent their time on gameplay instead of movies, i'm not going to complain I dont think!

Well, CtP and SMAC had the best wonder movies of them all... but the Civ4 ones are pretty stylish. It's not grand, but it's quite simple and elegant.

I don't think they are crap, they look pretty enough, but I do think they are boring. Once I've seen them all I see no reason to leave vids turned on.

Well we could have just an incrimental release on all fronts like Civ3 was, but no. This was supposed to be monumental :P

I'm not sure I understand the mindset of a person who focuses on wonder videos, city views and palace building while playing Civ. That ranks right up there with not liking the Civ IV box art.

Why could they not produce excelent wonder movies like those in Civ II? Those where great! Great music and editing, really powerful short clips. I have even watched them out-of-game by locating them on the CD Good stuff..

Too bad they did not have that kind of creativity this time It would have made the game perfect.
