Team Projects?

What's the difference between a "wonder" like say The Pyramids and a "Team Project" like the Internet? All I can tell is you can't rush a Project.

Projects can't be rushed and can't be captured since they don't exist in any one city.

Not only that, but a post-timeskip one.

I believe, (But have not confirmed) that if you are playing 'team play', then there is only one of each project per team.... i.e. 4 player game, 2 teams, Team A, player 1 builds Apollo, then Team A player 2 can start building SS components towards the TEAM Spaceship.
