BUG??? How come I can't see hammers on this screenshot?

How come I can only see bread on this screenshot?

Is there an option to turn on the hammers?

I registered just to confirm that I too have this and it has made keeping track of things quite annoying. Supposely there was some mention that the icons for hammers and the bread can be changed so I'm hoping the fix is a simple one.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also it has nothing to do with being in anarchy, as you can tell from the screenshot he's researching tech and thus not in anarchy.

Presumingly it is a problem either in installation or with the graphics cards. Although the latter would be strange.

Thx for post that link.

It seems that video card (geforce 440mx) is causing the problem.

Lucky for me that it is only my girlfriends machine that has that card and I can play at home on my other card.

Well does anyone know if the graphics for the hammers/anvils and bread/loaves can be changed? If so it would seem like an easy fix.

Same problem here.

My list of Civ4 problems with my GeForce4 460 Go.
Black terrain.
Shiny leaderheads.
Only bread shown, no hammers or gold on terrain screen and city screen.
Freeze and checkerboard pattern only on loading up saved games.
Skipping sound during intro and wonder movies.

I don't have Cheshire Cat grin.
I don't have random CTD's (yet) and I've played for 2.5-3 hrs up to 1200 AD. Although I've never been able to finsih a game because of the freeze/checkerboard after load.
I don't have sound problems at other times.

There seems to be something in common with us GeForce 400's. However, it all feels like a software issue to me because if I use the drop a scout in the center of the map and let him auto-explore trick, I can get a somewhat normal Fog of War. I don't know if it helps the bread problem though.

Seems that the radeon mobility 7500 has the same problem with the hammers and the coins (I have additional other problems with faint terrain colors at AGP disabled and black terrain with all other AGP speed, but that´s no tthe issue here)

have read in some other forums at civfanatics about this problem, so it seems to be a program bug (still wonder about the beta testing, since I guess about one third or more laptops around have one of these graphic cards on board)
