Possible fix for CTD (crash to desktop)

Hi all

I've been browsing this forum for the last day or two trying to find a fix for my problem, the game runs fine but crashes to desktop periodically.

Other people are experiencing this apparantly so I'll post how I fixed my problem. basically I created a new user account for windows and this stopped the CTD. A guy on civ fanatics said that running windows in safety mode stopped the CTD for him too.

Yes. I tried for several hours updating my drivers etc but it didn't seem to help until I created a new user account.

Thats a shame, it has worked for some people though so I would advise others to try it.

Did you guys log off your normal user account?

Yes. I also created an admin account and a limited account, but neither worked - both crashed to desktop within 30 minutes.
