  • Unit support costs and inflation

Could someone please explain how unit support costs work?
When I go to the Financial Advisor screen there is a cost for units and another cost for military units. Please see the screenshot in this thread:

I don't understand what the popup is saying. I'm playing at Noble level with Vassalage (7 free units according to the civics screen. Also, have 4 cities with total pop of 20. 1 settler, 3 worker, 1 work boat, 4 archers, 1 warrior, 1 spearman, 2 axemen, 4 swords, 1 galley. Total of 18 units...

Also, how do you combat inflation? My inflation rate is up to 25% and climbing. Is there a civic I should be running to lower this? Currently, I'm at H. Rule, Vassalage, Slavery, and Org. Rel.

It's there- not controllable, seems like a cash offset for when you heat up your economy related to your nation size and city sizes. Not a big deal, though- I have taxes at 0 and am making plenty of money every turn through religion!

You ned to control your income sources to suit your technology and in the middle ages religion was a CASH COW, not TAXES.
