Okay, I had a rather unhappy circumstance of my system deciding that "NTLDR is missing" last night and I had to doa complete reformat to get the PC working again.

It was rather odd as It was some time after my uninstalling the game it went poof.

But after the reload, Civ IV ran fine. I'm confused.

Please make sure that if ANYONE hears of a Patch please post ANY info on this thread... it would be very helpful and maybe even fill some of us with hope.

I am on hold with take2games right now. I am going to ask if they have any news on a patch. will post, if they answer the phone.

Someone has just made a thread in the General Civ4 Forum that said they have already talked to Take2 and a Patch is apparently in the works...

now... I have a question for all you knowing Civers that have posted your knowledge (and is greatly appreciated)... will a patch be able to correct the black terrain problem and the chesire cat syndrome?
