  • How do I check my framerate??

I have no idea how to get the framerate while playing Civ IV. Like everyone else it seems, I am having problems playing it because it is so slow, and I'd like to figure out what changes are helping and what ones are not.

Can someone tell me how to gauge my framerate pls?

    Thanks!

same problem, my system is more than adequate to run civ4 but the game play is very jerky even on the lowest graphics settings.

What video card do you have? Is it a Geforce FX 5xxx series?

I think people are estimating their framerates. Once you can see the individual frames of the animations, you know you're below 20 (and probably below 15).

you might give fraps a try. I have no experience with it myself, but I have seen other folks refer to it as a way to measure your fps.
