England on World Map

Does anyone know how to play as England on the world map and how to choose the other civilizations to play against (I would like to play with the European powers, India, China, Japan, the US and some assorted others). I hope that it is easier than me learning the world builder.

Any suggestions?

There is a world map...

Most people probably haven't been able to check it out yet though. Either learning the game, figuring out bugs, or trying to help others figure out and resolve their issues.

It's a good thing us "average idiot Civ player[s]" are doing some tech support...

Why bother playing historical nations? Just play random, fictional countries for your random maps.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who enjoys playing a random map deserves torture and death.
