  • What difficulty level is the "even" one?

In other words, on what level does the CPU and the player follow the same rules, with no advantage to either?

    Noble, I believe.

If you hover over the one right after Noble, which I believe is Prince, it says that Prince is the first level where the player is handicapped to the AI. So Noble is the the most even difficulty level.

Are you sure that warrior wasn't already there?

Noble is the level at which the AI researches techs and builds things at the same rate you do.

It does not mean that the AI does not get some bonuses. This is no different from Civ3, in that sense.

Are you sure it wasn't escorting the Settler? The AI will escort it's settlers.
