How hard would this mod be to make...

I would like to see a mod that completely eliminates all animation, movies, music, from the game. This would be to speed up the game play. I know you can turn some of this off in the options. But I would like to see tect replace the icons wherever possible, no leader heads, much simpler looking map, units, etc. A grid on the map, and so on...

Is it even possible to mod the interface like this? How difficult would it be?
