I can not even install Civ 4.
Apparently my problem is with the Installshield software. I've checked on the Installshield site (customer.installshield.com), and there is indeed a common error that has the same number as mine (0x80040707), trouble is the description of the error message is not what mine says. Mine is ISRC._CtrlSetMLERichText, and from the RichText part of that message my suspicion is that somehow Installshieldcan not display the License Agreement, because that's where my install terminates.
It does not do that on other computers, and Take2 support, while very kind, can not do much for me because it is not a Civ4 issue.
Anyone knows anything about Installshield, or Rich Text format ? It might be that I have to update something in the registry, but other than that...
I would hate having to buy a computer just to play Civ4 because my current one, perfectly working in all other matters including recent games, has an Installshield problem
