Question on resource trading

Hey all - quick question about resource trading -

Say I have access to 1 horse resource, and in a trade with another civilization, I trade my horse resource for their silk resource. After this trade, will I still be able to use the horse resource for say, creating a horse archer, or should I only be trading away horses when I have in excess of 1 of the resource?

If you trade your only horse away you will not be able to make anything that requires horses and you will have to change immediately, or at the very least the start of the next turn.
