I agree with Diadem here.

I said "Nazi" because I study WWII as a hobby, and I have gotten into the habit of saying "Nazi Germany" to differentiate between modern Germany, or the Germany previous to WWII, just as I say "Imperial Japan" to differentiate the times, or I say "Red China" to differentiate between Communist China, Imperial China, or Taiwan.

I too dislike the Nazi's in the extreme, and I did not mean to imply that all Germans were Nazi's. Most of the really dedicated Nazi's in Germany's World War 2 military were in the Waffen SS, I believe.

I just don't understand how someone who doesn't like the nazis but lives in nazi Germany can be called a nazi and someone who lives in Canada today under the liberals isn't called a liberal, it's the same thing, go up to any WW2 Allied vet and say all the Germans were nazis in the Wehrmacht and they'll tell you different. It's not being politicaly correct its just being right, just because you lived under the nazis doesn't mean you're a nazi, the Dutch lived under the nazis and had 60,000 SS volunteers, more than any other country so I guess they are all nazis too, same with France, Belgium, Italy, Ukrain etc etc.

1) Because it's not Liberal Canada, whereas it was Nazi Germany

2) Because there's a difference between the Liberal government and the country of Canada. There was no separation between Germany and the Nazi state.

The what is the difference between a nazi polotician and German soldier? Why would they wear different uniforms and why were German soldiers not allowed to join the nazi party. Was Graf Von Staufenberg who was a Oberst in the Wehrmacht and died for trying to kill Hitler a Nazi? That's how you refer to them but it's not how a majority of people refer to them. I wont deal with it because I refuse to have my grandfather who was raised by people killed in the holocaust and called names by former friends who joined the hitler youth and then was drafted to the German Army a nazi. That's disgusting, he had a Jewish person go undetected and was drafted to his wireless troop on the eastern front by the name of Nürnberger, I suppose he's a nazi also? You sir, shouldn't judge everyone by the same brush, just because you are drafted to your countries armed forces doesn't make you a believer of it's political force, merely a pawn of it.

Labeling anyone a nazi is a vial thing, be careful how you use that word.

I wont deal with it because the majority of "us" don't. I'm a history teacher and I help run a museum and talk to 1000's of people a year the majority of whom agree or agree after we talk about it. At any rate we've hijacked this thread and I'm sorry but it bothers me to see victoms of the nazis labeled as nazis. I have no sympothies for those that were but it is very unfair and vial for those that weren't. I have heard of a case of a German soldier winning a $100,000 lawsuit for being labeled a nazi in a paper in the USA. In the end lets just agree to disagree. Again sorry for hijacking but tempers will swell.

BTW, my grandfather didn't have a gun, he just sent wireless messages in the army. Guess he's not a nazi by your deffenition of the term.

On-topic, you can make amphibious assaults with artillery, odd as it may sound. Sure, they die, but not before they do collateral damage to the defenders. Sacrifice a few, and your Marines should not have much trouble knocking off fortified Infantry.

I don't think I ever built a Marine in Civ3. I was moving around a couple dozen in Civ4 today.
