The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

I've read about the retro intro with Nimoy's voiceover in the Gamespot review, but ... where is it?
I've got the German version which is, however, multi-lingual, and I've set it to English, and I do get Nimoy for the new techs, but an intro? When I start a new game? I've got nothing like this, just a window with my world leader and a bit of text. :/
When you start a new game, it generates some stuff and then there is a window with a brown retro looking world. If you wait a couple seconds the voice over starts and you see a updated version of the Civ 1 intro, with the same words spoken by Mr Nimroy.
