  • Entire computer crashes at leader screen

I got the game installed just fine, no problems. I can start running through the options for setting up the game, but when it comes time to choose a leader, everything locks up. I click on "Americans" and before getting a picture of the leader my computer completely freezes up. I tried setting the graphics to "low" in the options and it has the same problem. Any ideas???

I have the same problem. The game loads up fine, but when you choose single game or tutorial it works fine until you get to the choose leader screen and completely locks the computer up...have to do a hard reset every time.

    I have a ATI Radeon mobility 9000 on a Dell D600.

I have noticed that whenever I get the leader screen
whether it's in the tutorial, regular game, or civilopedia
the game just stalls and I have to do a hard reboot
to get my laptop back. My specs are as follows

      Pentium M 1.6 Ghz
      512 M Ram
      Mobility Radeon 9000
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

I forgot to mention that I did the download and
install the PAK patch but nothing changed. It still
      hangs

There's another thread about this here.

It looks like a lot of people are having this problem, and most/all of them seem to have lower-end processors (I have an Athlon 1800+, which I'm thankfully upgrading this week).

I was able to fix my problem with the pc locking up at the choose leader screen....downloaded the newest vid card drivers from Dell.

Game runs fairly well with the graphics turned down to low...except for some strange intermittent lags.
