  • Intel Integrated + T&L

It seems like my Intel Integrated Extreme Graphics 2 card does not have T&L. This may be the cause of the problems I am expiriencing (Black map, leaders skins being transparent, etc)

I also have an older Geeforce4 card (64mb and with T&L) but its an AGP card and my wonderfull Dell Computer has no AGP slot.

Is there any solution for me that doesnt involve dishing out 100$ for a new video card? Civ4 is realy the only game I would be playing and it seems like a waste to get a new card just for it.

The Intel Graphics card is also supposed to be pretty high end, but yet my older graphics card (that I cant use) seems to be superior in its ability to meet civ4 system requirements.

is T&L absolutely nessesary? is there a feature on either my card or in Civ4 that I can toy with to get the graphics to atleast a playable level?

I have the latest drivers and have been running on the lowest graphics setting in civ4, doesnt seem to help.

Running the "test" that I found elsewhere on this site, I blew all other requirements out of the water except for this one:

Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - No

Surely there is some other way than to pay 100+ $$ to upgrade to a new card to play civ4? when this card runs other games just fine? What did RomeTW do that CIV4 didnt?

What happens when that new card is lacking some tiny feature that makes the next game un-playable?
