    Uhm... What the subject says.

    Apologies if this has been asnwered before,
    I've looked around, posts, previews,
    but couldn't find any info.

        Great! I enjoy renaming my veterans so I can follow their (in)famous careers.

        Did so in Civ 3 but in Civ 4 here with all the promotions its even better!

              Great ! Thanks for answering !

              Giving every ship in my fleet a unique name
              may be pointless, but it's fun !
              From the USS Firstborn (curraugh) to the USS Enterprise (carrier) in CIV III.

                Thanks Soren. I'm very glad to hear that the unit renaming feature has remained.

                In Civ 3 (and CTP 2 before it), I found that I was renaming many units, not because it was cool to do so, but because it was a really useful way to remember what I wanted each unit to do. For instance, to keep my workers separate, I would rename them to include their "assigned" city name as well.

                While I'm mentioning it, thank you also for the ability to make notes, in at least some form, on the map itself. For those of us with poor memories, it's much appreciated.
