  • Is there a throne room is Civ4?

Will there be a throne room like in Civ2? If so, is it more customizable than the old one. Can you choose where to put things and maybe different styles?

Maybe not. I suspect it won't hit stores until the 26th as the shipping date is on the 25th... Or maybe that's just a Canadian thing (being further from the centers of distribution and all)

I never really enjoyed the feature, but it's not really in the way. So frankly, I couldn't care less, but I thought I've read in some preview that it's in.

I hope you can modify your "throne" to make it look like a toilet.

I used to live in Alaska (Fairbanks to be more specific, North Pole to be precise), so I can share in the pain with folks who have to wait to one degree or another, though I suppose I at least got the US release date, but that never stopped the stores from being late, consistantly 2 or 3 days, once a whole week.

Much confess though that on a scale of pain I got nothing on somebody in Brazil (or pretty much the rest of the world).

Civ 4's graphics are so immersive and realistic, I want to zoom in all the way from space down to my throne room, and see discontented peasants being whipped in front of me.

From the looks of these screenshots, it seems there will be a throne room.

                        example throneroom

                        example throneroom 2

Personally I never thought a throne room really added anything to the game, but they are fun nonetheless.

Yes, I remember it being mentioned that the Throneroom is back in CivIV...I am curious as to why Markos and/or Solver didn't mention anything about it (along with screen shots) in their reviews...

I'm guessing that having an actual throne is on of the improvements for the room.

The two shots that Polarnomad posted only shows what the Throneroom looks like before any improvements have been made to it....at least, that's how I see it.
