So am I the only one who thinks the rules about the us of nuclear weapons sounds dumb? You can't use a nuke on a city if you have a unit nearby even if that unit is a spy nor can you use it on your own land? Does anyone think Stalin wouldn't have unsed a nuke on the Nazis even if it meant dropping it on occupied parts of the USSR? Would Hitler not have dropped a nuke on London just because he had a spy there?

That Civ4 will be adding CTP2 style modability is one of its stronger points. I'm just sorry it took five years to catch up to CTP2.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Personally, I'm an all or none type of person when it comes to using nukes. If I can make them, then I make a freakishly large amount and blow up everything, but usually I don't even have to worry about it.First Master, Banan-Abbot of the Nana-stary, and Arch-Nan of the Order of the Sacred Banana.

I admit that, in some ways, nukes have been 'nerfed'-we need to be able to move nukes between cities (and to our allies, after all !) and be able to nuke our own territory/units. Having a short-ranged tac nuke, which is less powerful but harder to intercept, would also be good.
By the sound (and look) of things though, these suckers do a HELL of a lot more damage to cities, units and surrounding terrain. Also, because there is no 'pollution' in Civ4, the fallout from these guys is going to cause major long-term devestation in a city (lost productivity, commerce and negative population growth), devestation which can only be reversed if you have the ecology tech. Even then we don't know how long a clean up will take!
My last point is that there is a chance that-if other beta-testers complained about 'under-powered' nukes, its possible Firaxis might have already improved them for the final build!

Sometimes I think that since one of the ways to win in Civ is the Space Race requiring much more tech ability than we have today, there should be some sort of stonger weapon to reflect those advances.
Yes the nuke in the game is there, but it A) seems too underpowered and B) seems to be an artificial cap on weapons tech when there are other future techs available.
OF course the stronger such a weapon the more danger that an end game would devolve into a mass destruction derby....
