the game is in "quick city build orders" mode, which is enable if you single-click on a city's name. in this mode you can quickly see/add to/change the build order instead of going into the full city screen

to exit the mode you hit enter you are returned to controlling the last unit

keyboard use is very extended...

Hmm... Civ4 is a different game, and takes time getting used to. I don't think that anyone who is not a part of the beta team would stand a good chance on Monarch for their first game, but I may be wrong.

I always prefer to start on the fair difficulty where you and the AI have equal costs and no bonuses to either side.
