  • Create maps ala Simcity 4

Yeah, the "Blue is Ocean, Green is Grass" thingie is just the way Simcity 4 creates cities. In fact, it had 256 levels of height, the darker the tone, the more hight it was.

This is a cool way and in fact, will allow the creation of more real world and continental maps.

    Neat.
    Owww, I'm so cute! ^_^

In fact it is creating maps like in CTP2. Obviously Omnigood's maps are waiting for conversion. Espeacilly its huge world map.

I designed the program primarly to make creating maps of real things easier, though some people use it instead of the World Builder. It works rather well, though one needs a fair bit of patience and a bit of know-how to get images into the correct format and color scheme for the converter to read. I've made some pretty cool maps with it so far.

Yeah, the huge BMP of the world he created in the directory is really all you need.

Is there a map of Australia? I feel like making a follow up to my only completed scenario ever.... and what a terrible one it was.

Actually, that would be shots of the World Builder.

What the hell is that first image? A city that covers like 12 tiles?

That huge city is really cool!
Apparantly cities do grow bigger then their tiles, at least for the sight!

About the bmp 2 map converter, I think civ2 came with one as well.

Probably seems stupid, but one thing that always annoyed me in civ (all numbers) world maps was the Antarctica making (or simply no aAntarctica). Why? Well, melt it and you have a lot of terrain here. Is nice that Ice terrain type is back in Civ4, Civ3 poles were just eye candy and sometimes visual buggy with the grid.

So, we can melt the ice? We can have grassland here? (with just 100 years)
