Yeah, but they don't get that

Only very few companies have world wide shipping on the same date

I do understand why they can't ship localized versions on the same date, but why make localized versions? It only hurts the game... back when I started playing Civ I didn't understand english at all, but it helped me

It's available for preorder in norway at http://www.gamezone.no/index.php?mai...ducts_id=24721

Don't know if it's the preorder version or the normal version though

Hmm, I think I'll drop them a note and ask...

I don't like pre-ordering. I find that I can usually get it faster by waiting to see which retailers get it first. In my experience, the preorder places take longer. Usually, they ship out 3-4 days after it's released in stores.

ROFL@ the rest of the world... move to some place civilized you savages

Shipping on the same day as the regular version of the game, the Sid Meier's Civilization IV Pre-Order Edition will feature: collector's packaging, a CD soundtrack of the game, a keyboard template, a tech tree map and a spiral bound version of the manual. The Pre-Order Edition will be offered through participating retailers while supplies last.
Collectors packaging - and just who collects packaging anyways?

CD Soundtrack - ummm, as if playing it for 1000+ hours won't give me enough of the soundtrack to listen to

Keyboard Template - bet it won't fit my keyboard

Tech tree map - I thought tech trees came in charts, or trees, not maps?

Spiral bound manual - much to be prefered to the randomly shuffled unnumbered pages

I dunno, marketing gimmicks just get under my skin sometimes. Couldn't they just include free shipping instead, like EBGames did with my pre-order for Supreme Ruler 2010 (and that game cost $10 less to begin with!)

By the way, I noticed EBGames is already listing the Hint Book, I guess that will go well with the Spiral Bound manual!

there better be a techtree-chart/map and a decent manual in my normal retail game!

After all these (and escpecially decent manuals) are NOT extra luxury but part of the service that the customer pays for.

i'm not sure about the techtree chart, but there will certainly be a manual in the normal edition of the game

it's just that it's probably paperback, and a second Spiral bound edition will be more handy for daily use....
