  • Suggestions from a noob

    Hi there.

I haven't read the entire board, so forgive any redundancy.

I'd like a "rally point" for military units to go to upon being built.

I'd like a default build order for new cities.

I can live without the palace. If it's still around, I'd like to be able to turn it off.

I think there should be some "blank" civs so you can use the Civ editor more freely without removing any existing Civs.

I had a thought about civil wars: several adjacent cities in disorder could "rebel" and create their own civ! It would automatically be at war with you, with a negotiation option that allows you to placate it somehow--I'm still considering what that would require--and bring it back into your nation.

After much thought, I've determined that the game doesn't need naval technologies earlier in the game, as I have believed for a long time. The simplification of the map simply doesn't allow for the island-hopping that allowed early humans to colonize much of the world.

Perhaps a "maritime" trait that allows civs like the Phoenicians, Polynesians, and Vikings additional movement, reduced shield cost, or UUs would help retain that flavor without affecting the game much.

I know I had more ideas that I'd like to see in the game, but now that I've hunted down this board, I'm all blank.

Why don't you at least try doing a little research before spewing everyingthing out? If everyone who visited this forum did what you do, the forum would overflow with posts exactly like yours.

Just about every one of these ideas are in Civ 3 (as of Conquests)! The only one that isn't in Civ 3, civil wars, was in the original Civ. There was no way to 'placate' the separating cities however.

While I do disagree with Kuci's outburst, all of those things were already in Civ, which makes this whole thing rather pointless

I'm not a noob, and I have no idea what is in Civ3 Conquests. Tried Civ3 when it came out and it sucked whale, never bought it.

actually, I can think of quite a few Emperors who successfully used that as an excuse...
