  • First snippet of music for Civ IV

    It's right here.

Just a small part of (presumably) one of the "ancient age" tracks, I guess... It's written by Michael Curran.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

    Thanks for the tip. :b

That clip was very unexciting, though, I must say. I think Firaxis missed the mark just a tad and should have added a visual clip/screenshot instead.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

Darn. Wasn't able to hear it yet. Says it's too congested.

I guess that's the benefit for me being on my work's (which is a college) T1 network.

Sounds like the opening menu music.

Still can't access the music, but I looked around and noticed other stuff is updated from last time I looked at those parts of the site. I should check in on them more often.

              I thought it was good.

              What would you expect anyway?

Actually, I would like to see some new age music and more powerful classicals.

Pretty good for opening menu or ancient times, IMO.

I didn't expect much; I was being cynical wishing Firaxis would put up a screenshot instead.

                    its nice and neutral.

has some quality civ2 taste to it.

It's alright...but it would be really nice if they could get some real instruments in there. The flute, woodwind, whatever it is, really sounds fake to me. Maybe it is real, but to me it sounds like he just used a keyboard, like pretty much all civ songs.

Other than that, it sounds promising.

The sound track sounds okay, but nothing special here really.

hm, they seem to have removed the link... maybe this is a sign that the Civ IV page will be up and running very soon...
