    That sounds great to me!!!

Remember Darwin: The strong survive, and the weak die.
    Through adversity comes strength.

    death eternal to those who
    stand against righteousness."

Sorry, but the game is for them, not you. I suggest learning how to program in Python or find a new genre.

Yeah, the idea of massive random consequences does not sound like fun or strategy. Sounds more like RPG or something.

Though I would love to see minefields (both naval and land) incorporated into Civ4!

Answer: Unless you REALLY loved Civ3...no. It will be the same with new graphics...same as every civ incarnation since civ1.

Actually quite a bit has changed, unless you don't consider real change unless it does something like jump genres, (e.g. become the next Total War game), which is quite absurd to expect.

It's a game. shouldn't it be Disneyland? With or without those random events in Vanilla, it sounds like we'll each be able to play it the way we want to by modding if not otherwise. I think I'd like to try it both ways.

We really won't know if it will be worth our time and money until after it comes out. I'm still suffering from post-MOO3 stress syndrome so I'll wait for everybody's opinion here after it comes out.

Nikolai, there's another Muad'Dib out there???

More rants: Since Sunday was my 39th year of existence, I had an epiphany. No more free advice. Ever since the Hasboro's of the world bought out the MicroProse's & SSI's the quality of strategic wargaming has gone down.
Muad'Dib: If you're a fan of Squad Leader, or indeed of strategic wargaming, check out the Combat Mission series from Batllefront. WW2 turn based (more or less) combat (in three flavours: western front, D-Day to fall of Berlin; eastern front; North Afrika / Italy). The game 'pieces' are at the infantry squad / individual vehicle level, and it works best with company to batallion sized engagements).
