Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
EDIT: What's up with Civ3 multiplayer anyway, the forum's just about dead. CtP1 people play more online games than Civ3 people, judging by the forums.
PBEM is still very active AFAIK, multiplayer was never really popular around here. ( again AFAIK )

Yes, PBEM, but I am referring to the usual multiplayer. Let's see, CtP1 was released over 5 years ago, PBEM is extremely active, and regular MP is also played quite often. Not so with Civ3, although undoubtedly the absolute number of Civ3 players is greater than that of CtP players. Why is that, and I want to hope that Civ4 will not have an inactive multiplayer situation.

I think civ4 will be mostly the same as civ3 I dont think they will be removing the unfun elements so much as changing them. I think anyone who remotly liked civ3 will buy civ4 if for no other reason then it is new. I Think everyone here was hoping for a killer game but there thats 100% realistic and with tons of killer features but rember its still civ.
I don't think Firaxis gives the public enough credit, they think by making Civilzation an actual better game, more complex, more INTERESTING, that they will lose out on potential fans. They will make money with name like Civilization, I only hope they don't go Tycoon on me and mess it all up.
My cry to Firaxis: Make the game better....make it more interesting.....don't make it for a 10 year's old mind....this is Civilization.
I would like to be able to build canals, for ships to pass through. I would like to see cruise missiles carried on ageis class ships. Rail lines need to be more realistic. What about having trains to carry supplies and troops??? How about selecting units by dragging a box around all of them. I know civ4 will be on my shopping list, when it arrives.
I assume that's just some graphic fluff atmosphere.

In the OP, there's a link to the first two screenshots of cIV.
I'm a bit underwhelmed. I can't get a sense of any "3D-ish" styling in those screen shots and for some reason, it just looks a little bit funny to me. Some of the graphic mods for Civ3 look better than the opening cIV pictures. It shouldn't be that way....
and religion being a key addition to civ 4.... oh, no.
you have not taken the special distortion of the quantum physics that will fluctuate through the indescribable locations that this very planet will have the opportunity to move through in the coming future, that once realised will have then proven themselves to be beyond the understanding of mere mortals, even those whom happen to be Mighty Shoguns, nay it will once again be that only those holy seers known as computer programmers, yes it will be these revered and crafty bastards that will have the true ability to know that the day will be within 2004, even though our colanders will most likely state 2006
