Maybe minor changes can already greatly improve the Civ-experience.
ex. Suppose I am suddenly attacked and I want to wake all my tanks and bombers. Today you have go via the advisor screen and wake every tank/bomber one by one while after each unit you are kicked out of the screen into the main Map (centered on the city where the unit was). There is a second way where you go via the city screen and wake the units also one by one and city by city but at least you remain in the city screen during the complete operation.
Why not have a simple option in the military advisor screen for waking (disbanding...) all existing units of the type you selected at once. (in the option menu that pops up when you right click on a unit).
This can't be an expensive feature but it does give great satisfaction o the player
