  • Macromanagement

Ok let's face one of the things the will allways devide the civ players will be macromanagement. Personaly i'd say that i preffer to have total control on everything even if this will make the game longer. I mean if someone has to calculate the gametime for civ3 it will 25% gaming 75% inbetween turns that's for the huge games with many civs. Those 75% can be converter for management. I'm getting lost here anyway do you feel we have enough control over things or want more?

I'm not sure what exactly you mean, but I enjoy having micromanagement options provided they are fairly straightforward. I always retain control over all my units, build queues etc.. rather than automate them, for example, it allows me to maximise their efficiency.

Someone said it before - macromanagment that is less efficient than micromanagment will tend to be ignored on higher levels and when playing other humans.

However, does all macromanagment have to be inefficent? No.

It is mostly such where it involves a more or less complex AI: such as City Governors, Economy managers and whatnot.

Another type of macro would be presenting player the data in an efficient way so he could do multiple changes of different things (production queues, unit destinations..) in an easy way or by setting up simple conditional mechanisms.

I too like the option to either Macro or Micro manage situations in the game at my leisure.

Yes I see many ways that these could be stream lined and better presented, but the other all the options currently on offer suit the tasks at hand.
