I stopped playing Civilization the way you are supposed to and just started drawing one turn victories at 4000BC
      very rewarding gameplay experience
sometimes I end a couple turns to see 3960BC, pretending my rule got me to 40
I don't move beyond 3960 BC... i'm in my prime

My advice is: Find a balance between gaming and your daily responsibilities. Enjoying the game is important, but remember that there's a lot to experience outside of it as well. Allocate time for gaming that doesn't interfere with important duties such as work, study, or spending time with family and friends.

        😊

I can't quite recall the name of that incredible world-building tool, but it was so useful, user-friendly, and packed with advanced features. Can you help me out?

Ah, I know exactly what you mean — the default WorldBuilder in Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is pretty limited, and a lot of players preferred using one of the enhanced or modded WorldBuilders that made editing maps, resources, and civilizations much easier.

Since you said it was “good, easy, and advanced,” here are the most popular custom WorldBuilders people used for Civ IV: BTS. One of these is almost certainly the one you remember 👇
🧭 1. Platy Builder (by Platyping)

Most likely the one you used.
                • Extremely advanced and user-friendly interface.
                • Lets you edit anything: units, improvements, diplomacy, techs, religions, civics, bonuses, etc.
                • Includes hotkeys, tooltips, and even AI relationship tuning.
                • Works with Beyond the Sword, Colonization, and many mods (including FFH2, RoM, etc.).

📦 You can still find it on CivFanatics:
👉 Platy Builder Thread on CivFanatics

(Search “Platy Builder Civ4 BTS” if that link doesn’t work.)
🗺️ 2. BUG Mod / BAT Mod WorldBuilder

If you had the BUG or BAT mod installed (which enhance the interface), their custom WorldBuilder was improved too.
                • Easier navigation and resource placement.
                • Integrated with BUG’s in-game options panel.
                • Often came bundled with full interface overhauls.

                Check:

                🧱 3. WorldBuilder++

A smaller but neat utility mod that offered some extra editing panels without the complexity of Platy Builder.
Less common today, but you might’ve used it if you liked something clean and minimal.

If your old WorldBuilder had colored tabs, a floating panel, or a “Platy Editor” label in the corner, then 100% it was Platy Builder — that’s the one everyone loved for its power and simplicity.
