Where do I find the little tech pictures in the tech tree

Agreed that was the most likely to inflict damage to the look of the pictures and I will be using the smaller more compact files later when I get to the final phase of this.
So I will try the download tomorrow when I have time.
Allright... I have downloaded the proggy's and installed them all and the Gimp is gimping now so thats solved.
in other news
I saved out a file (agri) from both Gimp and DXTBMP and can see no visual loss between the two programs. Is there something I need to do to see the difference? If it is so miniscule that I cannot see it with the "naked eye" then I'm not sure there's anything to worry about for those who want to use the DXTBMP program instead. It does appear that Gimp however has more intuitive interface and overall structure of use than DXTBMP so I will probably just use Gimp.
Now if I can just get this excel program to create lines between the cells... I might have to move over to some other program with more functionality for artwork type files and creating lines between them. Any suggestions?
Thanks you guys this is very helpful and I'm learning a ton of new stuff here also!
Lines between cells how? If you just mean cell borders ... use cell borders Select the cells and in the toolbar there should be a border icon (select the grid picture) or right click, format, borders tab.
If your concern is the image itself not placing neatly in the cell, there's a few options you have on the picture object itself - namely, 'resize with cell' and 'anchor with cell' I think are their names. One tells it to resize or not when you expand or narrow the cell; one tells it to stick to the cell it's in. Right click on the picture, iirc you have a format or options or something option to click and get that dialog.
<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
I like your SNOOPY POSTER! - While you Wait quote.
BTW You might want to talk to CyberShy about pictures for things, he has a lot of web resolution pictures already for something quite similar. Not as hi res of course so Dale won't like them but possibly good enough for you.

Lines like you see in a normal tech tree going between cells with some sort of arrow pointing to the new tech you'll be going for. I have not actually been able to get excel to do that so I will probably just have to make this whole thing in a program like PSP or Adobe so I can draw them in as needed. But thats the least of my concerns for the moment.
I can place the images in the cells with a grid turned on in excel of PSP (haven't tried Adobe yet) but I am sure I will figure it out sooner or later.
This is not a labor of love or anything like that I just thought it might be fun to give it a try for others to use.
Visio is fantastic for tech trees. You can make the arrows and the best thing is you can move the techs around and the arrows stay stuck. Then just convert it to pdf.
But you have to have the software to do this of course.

ooh yeah! I forgot about that proggy... I think I have an older copy in a box somewhere from college days. It should have enough functionality to get this job done.
Thanks for reminding me about it, I was concentrating on an Art program like PSP but Visio will be much better.
