  • Navies and Trade Routes - A Mod Idea

    I've an idea for developing a mod to expand on the roles of navies and trade routes in the game, including features such as piracy, increasing the importance of canal cities, and wars over control of the best trade routes. I know that there are a number of mods which deal with expanding on these game concepts, however I developed the idea with two important rules:

    1) A player who doesn't wish to micromanage can still gain much of the benefit of trade routes - micromanaging benefits are there but they're not great.

    2) No caravans or merchant vessels - be they civ controlled or automated.

    Before I go potentially wasting my time, does anyone know if such a mod (which works witihin both of the above rules) already exists?
