  • Super Map Problem

Since I was not able to get help in the Help Forum, I thought I would copy and paste my problem here:

I recently installed Super Map again, after reinstalling Civ 4 again.

At first I have had no problems with Super Map and using its various options in the Custom Game setup menu.

But starting tonight, everytime I generate a new map for a new game, there seems to be a problem . . . . .

even though I have set Terrain Features to Super Map in order to generate such combos as oasis on plains and such, none of the maps I start with generate Super Map terrain features. And trust me, I have generated new maps after the Custom game setup something like 15 times tonight to do a repeated test -- not one of them allows for Super Map terrain features even though I selected that in the Custom game setup.

What could be the problem and what do I need to do to resolve it? Thanks for the help.

I tried reinstalling Civ 4, then the patch, and then Super Map, but that still does not work.

Could I get a link to Super Map (never heard of it)?

Super Map is one of the map script files available for downloading -- follow the links from Civilization IV from Apolyton's website.

Anyway, is the lack of help due to holiday inactivity or something?

You mean SmartMap? There's no link to a SuperMap under when going CivIV -> files -> map scripts.

You've set both the terrain and features options to SmartMap? SmartMap isn't designed to allow oases on any terrain other than desert and tundra.

But I have gotten oases on plains and grasslands with it in the past.
