  • Coder needed for benchmark

On Civfanatics I setup a benchmarking thread. However, in order for people to run the benchmark, they have to type in several commands and go into the console. I would like to automate this process and make the benchmark simpler to use. I could use an alternative method to make it simpler or have someone script the current method. The benchmarking thread is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=194879

In the future, Lord willing, I would also like to setup 2 or 3 other benchmarks -- each specializing in a specific area: video, CPU, & RAM. The current benchmark tests CPU & RAM.

Are there any coders here on apolyton that would be willing to code such scripts for the benchmark(s). Here are the details for current benchmark on civfanatics:
    1. The test involves a specialized save game available here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downlo...o=file&id=3727
    2. Scripting: once the user opens the save game, they should be able to start the test via some means like a keyboard combo or GUI button.
    3. Scripting: autosave should be disabled via scripting
    4. Scripting: test starts a timer (not actually displayed on screen; just internal)
    5. Scripting: test proceeds to let the AI play itself automatically without any human involvement for a set number of turns (perhaps let the user type in a turn number or let this be moddable in the downloaded save). The human civ should not exist or does absolutely nothing during this time. It should act just like game.aiplay # works.
    6. After the turns are over, timer stops and displays the time it took.
    7. Perhaps have the ability to run more turns after that.

P.S. Even if you aren't a coder, I could really use your help investigating other areas of Civ IV for possible future benchmarks. This includes looking into stuff for a video card benchmark as well as some specialized tests.
