Civ4 savegame format

Hello.

I want to develop a small application to extract data (score, demographics etc) from Civ4 save games. Unfortunately, I don't know how is it coded in the binary file.

Does somebody know how to decrypt the file?

Good question. I tried looking at this once before. I think the save game files might be compressed but I'm not sure.
