Seen several threads where individuals were trying to simplify the process of locating civs that had resources available for trade.
Brought to mind the possibility of a commodities exchange mod - rather than going to each civ and negotiating, put your resource on the market with a minimum exchange price in gold. From there the resource would go to the highest bidder for the next turn. That contract would remain in place until the resource was removed from market, you canceled the purchase, or another civ outbid you. Prices would float by supply & demand (a war could depress prices as a civ unloaded resources for cash, or perhaps the opposite effect for strategic resources). Would provide another wrinkle to the financial aspect of the endgame. Probably linked with at least one tech or building (Wall Street?).
Seems like it would be a natural extension of the advisor screens but as simple hack, I am out of my league as far as implementation, especially when it comes to adding a new screen.
Does it sound interesting enough to be worth the trouble to develop?
Cheers,
