  • Time warp ideas

Here's an idea for a wonder. Something that gives your civilization some sort of time shift advantage. What this in effect would do would generate an extra turn for your civlization once very 20 turns say.

The repercussions of an extra turn every so often would be interesting say even from those villages. An extra thing to find in a village might be some mysterious artifact that warps time temporarily giving your whole civlization an extra turn that turn.

Or how about some sort of time warp bomb that you could hit another civilization with which robs them of a turn!

Is this possible in the code?

That would be a huge advantage when you'd declare war, wouldn't it?

I'm not buying BtS until Firaxis impliments the "contiguous cultural border negates colony tax" concept.

Hippies and Armageddon? Were you talking to me about this?

I hope I'm not ruining the whole point of this "time warp" wonder, but the easiest way to code it would be to not force in an extra turn, but to simply increase productivity to smoothly simulate that extra turn. For example, the Taj Mahal wonder creates a golden age. What's happening during that golden age? Your citizens are working faster than they ordinarily do. Units move at the same speed, but in all other respects, a golden era is just like as if time slowed down for your Civ alone.

But what about the extra turn for all the units?

Hmm. There should be a way to speed up all units, be it temporary or permanent -- circumnavigating the globe and the woodsman II promotions do it in a limited sense. I do not know how to implement that as only a single extra turn every X turns, though.
