Changing your default leader name

When I start a new custom game, Civ IV grabs my hostname and sets that as the leader name. I'd prefer to hard code something different (like, my name

How do I do that?

You can dig around in the Civilization4.ini file, search for the hostname and replace it with the one you want wherever it pops up. Then starting a new singleplayer game will give you the name youw ant.

But if you so much as look funny at the Multiplayer menu button in the main screen it will replace your work and you'll be back where you started. If there's a way to keep the MP name from resetting the SP name I haven't found it.
