The tags and in CIV4BuildingInfos.txt can apparently be used to limit the latitudes on which a building can be constructed. Has anyone tried this?

Latitude limitations for buildings - are they useful?
The difference between industrial society and information society:
In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.

Would be interesting... I can think of two new buildings that could use this feature of the game engine:
Ski resort
Beach/island resort
These could be city buildings, buildable only if the latitudes are appropriate. I suppose they could also be terrain improvements. Both would supply some combination of happiness, culture, and/or commerce.Steve

Check the Monument mod about resorts.

Are they useful? IMO, no. I don't even really like the Space Elevator latitude restriction. Which means, of course, I should remove it.
One of these days I'll make 501 posts, and you won't have to look at my silly little diplomat anymore.
"Oh my God, what a fabulous room. Are all these your guitars?"

There are useful, but it's stupid that it isn't explained anywhere why you can't build the space elevator in many of your cities.

Sucks that they didn't document this in a mousover on the greyed out wonder - instead you don't even see it in the build list in those cities.

I guess civvers are supposed to be Orbital Mechanics engineers from the viewpoint of Firaxis.
