  • Nice editor that handles Python, XML, C++, Java...

Text editor Notepad++ has syntax coloring, word completion, code "folding"... all kinds of nice stuff.

And you can use the same editor for XML and Python scripts (And the C++ files when the SDK gets here). That's a bit of a plus.

    Hope it helps.

Ooh...looks interesting. I've been looking for something to replace Crimson for a while now...

      I'll try this out. Thanks.

        And where would that be?

I remember UltraEdit from a while back and love the hex editing features. I didn't know it could do syntax coloring and code "folding" and such. (or are you just so hard-core you don't nned that stuff? You write C++ in Notepad!)

            I do

All my Java, Prolog, C++ and html coding is done in Notepad. Very seldomly, I use jEdit.

I use a JCreator and DevC++ which I was introduced too by my programing classes, when I am goofing off/hit by inspiration at work I just use a plaintext file and polish it up when I get home. When I am booted int Linux I use Vim.

                syntax coloring

Boy, the syntax coloring for PHP really sucks...

Other than that, I like it.

vi can't give you psyciatric advice. , and for continued vi vs emacs debate I'll have to ask you to go to the OT forum.

The colors themselves do, yeah. I had to change almost every single one.

I'll have to second that, although I do like notepad++ better than VI depends on your platform I guess

I found this independently a while ago. It's nice

On linux I use gedit. It's all I want or need... notepad + highlighting.

EditPlus is a great application that I use and many of my co-workers use for programming, especially in Python, PHP, SQL, and others. It has syntax highlighting and macro sets.
