I have just completed the map scripts for the FX-Huge Maps...
Some of them are MUCH bigger than normal...
Tho only Terra is larger than FX-Huge on any of the maps not listed above (Uhhh...Archipelligo and Continents?)

Terra is now going to be 44x28!!!!

    THAT is truely HUGE!
I am testing it now to make sure it works...and its taking FOREVER in the "Finishing" stage!!!

If all of the above maps work as expected I will be posting this as a second attachment for those who want it!

if I use a great scientist to acquire a technology, it uses up the Great person BUT I do not get the technology. I learned that after wasting 2.

I have no idea what is causing that!
Did it at least advance your research ammount any?
Perhaps it is giving you research points...I just dont know.
I didn't change anything that should have affected that!

As to the maps...I have met with failure!
I am unable to make Terra work at all!

I need to test all of those other map types as well but I suspect they will also not work properly with FX-Huge!

Hellow there just been playing out ur mod a bit and just had a few questions/ideas.

First u think u would make a mod that is say about 2000 turns all together?

Next u think about adding on to the tech tree more skills if it can be done.

Such as solor energy. Maybe could add off of composites the fa-22 jet fighter the new high tech fighter. Add in some more resource types that the game does not have. Those are just a few tech ideas.

Also if it can be done maybe added some new leaders to the game. With some new skills for there empire.

Just a few fast thoguths off hand.

            Poser002:

Perhaps you would like to check the following link:

I am absolutely sure that this mod will not be to everyone's liking .... especially with the current move towards shorter games. Maybe, on the other hand, this mod can be seen as an attempt towards creating a truly Massively Single Player (MSP) version of Civ 4. Indeed, this idea (when...

[Unfortunately it links to page 4 of this thread .... just reset the page number at the foot of the page ]

I have considered opening a similar thread at Apolyton .... but thought that unnecessary duplication might not be a good thing.

[In fact, I was initially going to post at Apolyton but access to this site was VERY SLOW .... therefore I was virtually forced to post at Civ Fanatics. ]

Hmmm...Two people over at CivFanatics are reporting that they are NOT experiencing this!

What era were you in...they think this may be an effect of the increased Tech costs, that you are only getting part of a tech at the level you are at!

They claim that they get early techs without a problem.

Like Son of Moose said, we are already all over it!

My tech tree already has like 33 new techs...Not implemented yet, merely planned now...Only one has been implented as a 'proof of concept'.

                  CONFIRMED
Great Plains, Highlands, Hub, Ice Age, Inland Sea, Lakes, Maze, Mirror, Oasis, Pangea, Ring, Team_Battleground, Terra, Tilted Axis, Wheel
DO NOT WORK WITH SIZE CHANGING MODS!
All of these map scripts result in a single land mass without any water, and climate banding, from ice to arid at the edges gradiating to jungle in the very middle.
                  Their Scripts specify map sizes.
I attempted to make my own versions of these maps by simply inserting the new map sizes...however this DID NOT work!

The following map types should work without a problem:
Archipelago, Balanced, Continents, Custom Continents, Islands.

Is anyone having any trouble with my Mod?

Has anyone completed an FX-Grand game on an FX-Huge map?

I'll let you know when I finish my 1st game. Its currently 600 AD. I'm playing as Elizabeth with 14 others on a 6 continent FX-Huge map, 1000 turn game on Noble level. Tech pace seems to be okay, though I am playing with trading off. I'm currently researching Machinery but I'm really behind on naval techs.

The island I am sharing with Montezuma is huge, we each have about 10 cities with about 1/3 of the island still open. I've fought 2 huge wars with him, its nice to be able to assault a city with 4-5 catapults, 8-9 swordsmen, and 3-4 axemen and still be able to use that elite army for another war 30-40 turns later without spending a fortune upgrading it.

Well I finally got to sit down with my own mod and begin a long game giving it the time and attention it deserves.

                            FX-Huge and FX-Grand.

The pace feels just right, the tech feels just right...and I am involved in a HUGE war in the middle ages. I decided in 12xx that I was no longer going to share my snakey archipeligo continent with the Brittish...so I am embarking on a campaign of genocide. I have an army of literally dozens of swordsmen, all trained in City Assault capturing a down, waiting for it to be subdued, leaving a few of their own behind, wash, rinse, repeat!

It is now 15xx and the end is near for Brittian. I have knights now, my tech advancement was stunted by my continual war over the last 300 years, but my empire has more than doubled in size. There are only a handful of English cities, and they shall fall tonight!

I have brought war back to Civ IV!

When I get bombers and a decent navy the world will be mine!

Well I have won my independence from the Brittish, however I was unable to erradicate them as they had colonized another island and I lack a navy adequate to wipe them out.

The year is 1666AD and I think I shall now enjoy the fruits of owning my own continent in its entirety!

I certainly lack for no resource, and thanks to my captured cities, I am about three times larger than when I began this war!

I will use my new sources of income and power to work my way up the tech tree until I can properly route the english...

Meanwhile, Napolean has been quite rude and has been eyeing my lands for a while now. I have just won them. I
do NOT intend to lose them!

If its war that he wants, then his troops will meet their demise on my shores.
