Drawing your own maps?

it is possible to use a bmp file or something similiar to draw a map? I've been trying to create a custom map but it just takes too long to draw it accurate with the worldbuilder.

Tips, suggestions and ideas are most welcome!

I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure that I am posting this in the right way but I had something to say about custom maps. I have not played the game yet but I like to make my own maps and then load them before the game begins. It seems like you can't do this with the world builder. Is this correct!

Not at all. Check out the sticky in this forum - the WBS item mentioned by FancyAFrederick - and one of the downloads contains a PDF detailing how to create your own maps.

It's spiffy.

Be sure to read further down in the thread, where an additional python add-on is given that's not specified in the pdf (it's for the gui).

It's not a small amount of work, but it's satisfying to see it work.
