Mmmmmm, Civ4!
Been thinking about some mods which might be nice, and one thing which bugs me is looking at the "fast worker" special unit of the indians versus the special units of all the other civs, the "fast worker" seems vastly more useful- it remains useful throughout nearly the entire game. The other special units are only going to be useful for a specific, relatively brief period in the game. This mod idea was kicked around on the IRC channel with Chaoslord, so credits to him for his input
The basic concept for this is to give the various civilizations a bonus to a particular "class" of unit instead of a single special unit. Classes would be melee, ranged, mounted, and siege.
Each civ would have some type of bonus- movement, strength, reduced production cost, reduced maintainence cost, free XP, etc. to one class of units.
That's the basics of the first mod concept. The second thing I've got kicking around is.... are the reports exposed in the modding? I really want to improve some of the reports. Simply adding turns to complete on the domestic advisor report, and allowing double-click on city name to take you to that city's management screen would be a huge improvement.
Comments, thoughts, suggestions?
