Defense at the borders

I've tried placing tanks on every tile near the borders and declared war. But the enemy could just easily travel past my tanks to pillage my land. Is there a way to mod it so the enemy cannot travel past my blockade? Pls help...thanks

Yeah, I wish zoc was in the game somehow. It really prevented people from racing around your troops back in civ2.

And in SMAC, too. Zone control made defending much easier.

There's no way the enemy moved past the tanks except diagonally, so have a tank there too... simple.
