How does the game choose where you can place bonus items and where you can't? I tried to place some wheat for example and it would only place it on a handful of coastal squares and out into the water as well, but it wouldn't put it anywhere else on the land.
I'm also having trouble smoothing out the underwater terrain. The game created a custom island map, and all the underwater terrain is uniformly smooth. But when I try to remove a landmass with coast or ocean squares it place random underwater canyons, pits, etc. I don't know if it really matters when you're playing, but it sure looks stupid. Is there some way to just place smooth water? Also what is the default terrain used when a game creates an island map for example? It looks different than both oceans and coasts that I place.
Also how can you change the camera location so you can edit other areas? When I start Worldbuilder it centers on the starting point of my civ and then won't let me move the camera or edit more than a few tiles away from that location.
