I'd like to start a thread to drum up support for someone to please do a high quality map of Earth, ala Marla Singer's gorgeous Civ III maps.

I have a question about the Earth map currently in game - I play a game on "Earth" and then I shift to World Builder mode. I cannot, however, seem to get the *entire* Earth map - just portions of it.
Example: I take the Chinese as my civ, and when I go to the world builder in game, I can only edit within a couple of dozen squares of my starting position. I can't even scroll as far as the egyptians (and I know they're in there)
Any way to make the World Builder show the WHOLE map? I'd really like to put in all the North and South American civs, too.

Edit: I'm an idiot - I was selecting the wrong civilization! My player name was similar to another leader's name, and I stupidly kept selecting it.
What you suggested worked - thank you very muchLast edited by thesandtiger; October 28, 2005, 13:38.

Rhye, I didn't explain myself very well when I start the thread. I wanted exactly what you have released, an Earth map w/ 18 Civs, all in correct starting locations.
Oh, yeah, Rhye, what is the "_Civ4TransferredMaps" Directory for?Remember kids: The higher your post count or the faster your computer, the larger your penis!

*sob* I tried the chipotle thing, and now my computer crashes, my dog hates me, my mom criticizes my hair and, possibly worst of all, I can no longer find zesty Mexican food anywhere.
That's the last time I modify a game file when I don't know absolutely what I'm doing. Too many unintended consequences!

Actually, Soren's not entirely correct (someone call CNN, we have a world premier!) Unless I'm very much mistaken, chipotle gives you access to some debug tools, which can be helpful, but the world builder itself works just fine without it. I'm mildly surprised chipotle is still in the release version of the game (that is, assuming it did, if thesandtiger's report is reproducable by others it might not be after all), you don't really need it for anything other than debugging. Very nice though, once some serious modding starts to get done those debug tools can really come in handy.
