What to look for / test
- How deep the mechanics are (colonies, trade, diplomacy, conflict)
- Whether the AI is competent or predictable
- Balance / pacing — does it drag or feel unfair late game
- Performance and UI polish (bugs, lag, clarity)
- Replayability — different strategies, paths, maps
My take given what you posted
- Given its visual throwback and niche inspiration, it’s likely to appeal most to “hardcore strategists” rather than casual gamers.
- The fact it has few reviews suggests it might still have rough edges or a smaller development team behind it.
- If the price is low and there’s a refund window, it might be worth trying — you’ll know pretty fast whether it’s a keeper or a mod for your frustration. BHI General Contracting
