  • Can't Load Mods

    Every time I try to load a mod (PatchMod or AoDII), the game goes to the desktop and says "You can't load more than one instance of this application" or something similar, and the game closes.

    When I load the game again, the mod wasn't applied. Any ideas?

    If you open the ini file you'll find a section where you can specify the mod to open by default.

    It's currently:
    ; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
    Mod = 0

    Change the line to read:
    Mod = Mods\PatchMod

    Or whatever mod you want to load. This avoids having to go Advanced-->Load a Mod.

      Dale does this mean I can open patchmod by default, and then apply on top achievements? :P

      Does achievents mod has anything canceling patchmod?

      I will try it!

      Mind you .ini file is at my documents...

          No, won't work as both mods contain a DLL file. They cancel each other out.

          But give me a few days and I'll post up a new PatchMod with Achievements and some new victory conditions. I've already got one new victory condition running: Economic.

              You don't need to install mods, just unzip and copy them in the mods folder (prime game destination, not my documents folder).

                You may need to create the Mods folder. Here is what I think is the default path:

                C:\Program Files\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Colonization\Mods

                After you unzip, under Mods you'll have directories like Patch, PatchMod, and AgeofDiscoveryII.
